HC Playa is a writer, mad scientist, wife, mother, and an animal wrangler. Rumor has it if she’s not elbow deep in fantastical worlds, you’ll probably find her hunched over a microscope or dodging chickens as she digs in the dirt, coaxing plants to grow.
In regards to fandoms, she’s polyamorous, but Star Trek was her first love. She’s both a nerd, a geek, and dork for knowing the difference and is puzzling over the universe giving her popular children, one of whom is a cheerleader. As all of them still enjoy a few geeky things, she remains hopeful in converting them to the dark side. Just in case, as a consolation prize, the universe passed her sarcasm to the lot of them.
She adores all things fiction, but science fiction and fantasy have long been her favorite genres. Her specialty is blending genres with the same sort of skill she applies to baking; a little of this, a little of that to yield a delectable result. While she mostly writes novels, she has several short stories in her Crosssroads of Fate series with ProSe Productions, in addition to short stories appearing in one of Dark Oak Press’s anthologies and Conjurings magazine by WhiteCat Press, with more to come.
